The KTM Senandung Langkawi Express Train operates overnight daily from Johor Bahru's JB Sentral Railway Station to Thailand's southern city of Hat Yai.
You can use this sleeper train from JB or KL to get to popular tourist destinations like Ipoh and Langkawi Island.
If you wish to travel in the other direction from north to south (Hat Yai to JB)
This Intercity train service as been cancelled from 19th May 2016.
All trains between Padang Besar and Gemas are now operated by the new fast ETS trains.

Tickets for this train can be booked at any Malaysian Intercity train station or you can easily book you tickets online -
If you are heading to the beaches of Langkawi, you can get off the train at either Alor Setar and transfer to the port of Kuala Kedah for the ferry over to the island, or at Arau and transfer to the port of Kuala Perlis.
